You can apply for a loan for courses starting form the 1 August 2016. You'll be able to apply online or download an application form. Further guidance on how to apply can be found at gov.uk/advancedlearningloans.
Once you are offered a place at Millennium Academy on an eligible course, you will be sent an offer letter (also called Learning and Funding Information Letter) which has all the information you will need to make a loan application. You can download an application or complete it online on gov.uk/advancedlearningloans . You will submit this to Student Finance England.

If you have not been made an offer to study at the College or Training Provider, you will not be able to apply for a loan.
There is a maximum amount of loan available to you based on the type of qualification you are studying and its fee. This amount can be found in the offer letter you received from the college or training provider. You can apply for a loan for the maximum amount to cover your tuition fees or you can pay all or part of the tuition fees yourself.

No. There is no upper age limit.
If you are not a UK national, you will need to provide evidence of your status to Student Finance England for example passport and documentary proof of eligibility and residency inside the UK. You will also need to provide a valid National Insurance (NI) number in order for the loan to be paid to the College or Training Provider on your behalf.
You will not have to make any repayments until your income is over £21,000 a year. In addition, students who progress from an Access to Higher Education Diploma course to complete a Higher Education Degree can have their outstanding Advanced Learning Loan for the Access course written off.
The monthly repayment would depend upon salary after completing your course. You will pay 9% of any income over £21,000 a year.
No. The Advanced Learning Loan is only available to you if you are aged 19 or above and studying a Level 3 qualification. If you are under 19 years old you should contact our Admin and Recruitment Team to find out if you are eligible for alternative financial help for your studies.
