Gas Safety CCN1 Course & Appliances (Re-Assessment)

Millennium Academy Gas Training and Assessment’s CCN1 re-assessment course is for experienced gas installers that need to keep their ACS qualifications up to date. CCN1 re-assessment and associated appliances is required every five years to maintain Gas Safe Registration. The appliances included in this package are; Central Heating Boilers, Water Heaters, Cookers and Space Heaters.

Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) re-assessment, plus appliances includes training and re-assessment on the following:

  • CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety, including CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)
  • CENWAT (incl CPA1) – Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
  • CKR1 – Cookers (extra £150)*
  • HTR1 – Space Heaters-including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters (extra £150)*

 

The cost of the CCN1 gas course (re-assessment and appliances) does NOT include training but WILL include assessment and the certification fee.

Entry requirements

The CCN1 re-assessment course is for gas installers who need to renew their domestic ACS qualifications. To meet criteria and to undertake re-assessment, operatives must complete the course no more than 12 months after the expiry date of their existing qualifications.

 

The CCN1 re-assessment can be completed up to six months before this expiry date.

Gas installers who have held the qualifications previously but have let them lapse by more than 12 month, must undertake Premier Gas Training and Assessment’s Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) training and initial assessment course.

 

Candidates who have never held CCN1 but have transferable skills and experience may be eligible for the centre’s  Managed Learning Program and once successfully completed can then undertake gas appliance re-assessment in modules certificated under the ACS scheme.

 

Course syllabus

Core Domestic Gas Safety CCN1 re-assessment training covers:

  • Combustion, relevant pressures and gas rates
  • Gas pipe work
  • Tightness testing and purging, including low and medium pressure
  • Chimney systems recognition and testing
  • Ventilation
  • Gas controls
  • Flue gas analysis

 

Gas appliance re-assessment gas appliances training covers:

  • Installation defects
  • Basic gas safety fault finding

 

CCN1 re-assessment takes the form of practical tests and multiple-choice question papers.

On successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with the Blue Flame Certification certificate in Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and the appliances they have undertaken.
