Part P

Overview

To equip candidates with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to carry out domestic electrical work safely and in compliance with legislation. This course aims at candidates with some Electrical background, and other trades who have to carry out some electrical work as part of their work activities. On successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded a City & Guilds certificate and will have to register with a Competent Person’s scheme as a Domestic Installer.

  •  Adding new radial power circuits
  •  Replacement of Components
  •  Spur off a ring circuit

  •  Earthing and bonding procedures
  •  Calculating cable sizes and load demands
  •  Introduction to IEE wiring regulations
  •  Safe isolation procedures
  •  Special Installations or locations
  •  Three phase systems
  •  Replacement or addition of consumer unit
  •  Inspection and testing procedures
  •  Certification and schedules of inspection and test results

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must have some basic knowledge of Electrical Installation

City & Guilds Online Multiple choice exam Qualification City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings
